B - Opening - Draft
Once upon a time and once upon a place, there lived a people not unlike our own, on a planet not unlike Earth, and in a galaxy not unlike our own. The planet was called Wahid because it was the first of its kind. It and everything on it was born out of the love of the gods, Umm Kul Hayat, Mother of all life and her husband Insana Ma La Nihaya, Being Without End. Umm and Insana could easily be confused with our own Mother Nature and Father Time; Adam and Eve; or Romeo and Juliet, if this was actually Earth, which it isn’t.
The creations of Umm and Insana can be found on Wahid to this day. They are rarely alone though. Umm and Insana along with Houb and Shaharazad keep a close eye on their family down there from their home high above in Al Bidaya. Whenever things look grim for the people of Wahid, they intervene.
The gods noticed a darkness that was growing throughout Wahid. There were moments of light overcoming the darkness but darkness was definitely winning. They had tried to intervene in small ways to help the light win but to no avail. When Insana looked through time, little had changed to keep the darkness from engulfing all of Wahid. The gods worried that much bolder action would have to be taken.
