Military Arms Sale to Israel

I was extremely disappointed in some of my fellow pro Palestinian Americans who voted for Mr Trump over Senator Biden in the 2022 election due solely to his continued unquestioning support of Israel. I am both proud of the majority of Democrats in the Senate who voted to block the military sale of arms to Israel and saddened by those who didn’t.

While I understand the historical and religious views of American support for Israel, the world and especially Israel have changed drastically since its inception. Israel quickly became akin to those their people fled and has only become worse as we Americans aid in their efforts to ethnically cleanse not just Gaza or Palestine but the entire Levant.

This is not and never has been a religious issue for myself, personally. I am if nothing forthright. I have told all since I became a Muslim 25 years ago that I will not participate in hajj, a pillar of my religion because of the Saud family and their un Mohamed like interpretation of Al-Quran. The As-Saud family are well known for their cruelty, depravity and inhumanity to man. They dishonor not only Islam but their beloved ancestors as well, peace and blessings of Allah be upon the rightly guided. I don’t cotton to terrorism for any reason.

I have tried to walk in the shoes of Zainab bint Ali, peace and blessings of Allah be upon her since birth, before I even knew her name nor that of our beloved Virgin Mary nor our beloved prophet Ibrahim of the monotheistic faiths, peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all. We are all family. Ummah wahid. One community. That is why my jihad is jihad Al-Kalimat, War of Words. We need only remember that we are all one and can make peace. War is so overrated.

As Edwin Starr sang, “War. Huh. Good God, y’all. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing.”

My eternal gratitude and thanks from a Purple Heart Vietnam Veteran daughter and proud Muslima to Senator Kelly and his colleagues for their courage both on and off the battlefield and all who continue to honor their service and sacrifice to our beloved nation and therefore the world. I am proud of you all.
